Master Lock No. 4The Master Lock No. 4 is a low-security padlock made by Master Lock.
Locking Mechanism and Keyway
The Master Lock No. 4 uses a pin-tumbler mechanism. This lock uses the W1 cylinder, which contains 4 standard pins. The No. 4 typically utilizes the M1 key profile, but not always. The lock is not key retaining. The shackle is locked at both the toe and heel.

Body
The Master Lock No. 4 has a brass laminated body and hardened steel or brass shackle with a key-in-knob-style style cylinder. The brass body makes it ideal for more harsh environments. Models with a "2B" instead of a "2" in the name use a brass shackle instead of a hardened steel one. It cannot be dissembled non-destructively. One must remove the rivets that hold the plates together, and each layer then removed individually.
