Locking Mechanism and Keyway
The Master Lock No. 1 uses a pin-tumbler mechanism. This lock uses the W1 cylinder, which contains 4 standard pins. The No. 1 typically utilizes the M1 key profile, but not always. The standard model can be opened in either the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, but the commercial series restricts the key to clock-wise rotation. Body
The Master Lock No. 1 has a steel laminated body and hardened steel shackle with a key-in-knob-style style cylinder. It cannot be dissembled non-destructively. One must remove the rivets that hold the plates together, and each layer then removed individually.
